Beth Loffredo Named Interim Head Women's Lacrosse Coach

              FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Beth Loffredo was named the interim head women's lacrosse coach at Fairfield University. The Fairfield alumna will oversee the program while department of athletics completes its national search for a head coach. The announcement was made by Director of Athletics Eugene P. Doris.

 

            Loffredo served as an assistant coach under Stacey McCue, who resigned as Fairfield's head coach after five seasons at the helm. Loffredo completed her first season as an assistant coach in 2007 after spending four seasons as a player (2003-06). As a player, Loffredo finished her career as the program's all-time leading scorer with 180 points. Her 140 career goals also represent a Fairfield University school record. She was a three-time All-MAAC first team player, and was the conference's Rookie of the Year after scoring 47 goals in 2003.

 

            Loffredo earned a degree in American Studies at Fairfield University. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in education at her alma mater.
