Box Score

The Fairfield University women's lacrosse team dropped a 12-7 decision on the road to Mount St. Mary's this afternoon. The Stags fall to 3-3 on the year while the Mount improves to 2-5.

After allowing the Mount to strike first, 43 seconds into the game, the Stags scored four straight goals, by four different players, to take a 4-1 edge, with 15:36 to play in the first half. The Mount scored three straight to knot the score at 4-4 with 6:10 left in the first half. Sarah Masterson scored 19 seconds later, the Stags final lead of the game.

Mount scored the last two goals of the first half of the contest, taking a 6-5 lead into the half. The first four goals of the second-half, three from Ellie Keener, put the Mount up for good, 10-5 with 19:27 to play. Beth Loffredo scored twice in a five minute span, but the Mount answered each goal, the last with 1:53 to play, for the 12-7 win.

Loffredo scored three goals and added an assist for the Stags. Amy Neville had a goal and an assist, while Masterson had her two points on goals. Abbey Goodwin touched net again for the Stags, and Lara Hannigan dished out an assist.

Lauren Chatnik took the loss for Fairfield in net, making 10 saves in her 44:15 of action. Kristin Genovese allowed two goals and had a save in the final 15:45 of play.
