Fairfield, Conn. - Fairfield University head women's lacrosse coach Stacey McCue announced that former Stag standout Beth Loffredo has been named assistant coach.
"I am excited to have Beth continue her association with our program," McCue said. "I think that she will make a great transition from player to coach, and her experiences playing at Fairfield will be a great benefit to the program."
Loffredo finished her four-year playing career this past spring, helping the Stags back to the MAAC Tournament. She graduated as the Stags all-time leader in points, 180, goals, 140 and goals per game, 2.5. Loffredo became the first Stag to win MAAC Rookie of the Year accolades, and went on to be named MAAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2004, and was named to the All-MAAC First Team accolades as a senior. She was also named Fairfield's Female Athlete of the Year for 2005-06.
Loffredo will take over the responsibilities held by another former Stag standout, Megan Main. Main will continue to work with the program in a volunteer role.
