Fairfield University head women's lacrosse coach Stacey McCue announced the 2007 schedule today. The Stags will play a 17 game slate, with nine home games and a meeting with each of its seven Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Lacrosse League foes.

"We are very excited with the schedule that we have put together for 2007," McCue said. "Our non-conference slate is very challenging and will prepare us well for our league schedule, and qualifying for postseason play again this season."

Fairfield opens the 2007 campaign on the road on February 24, when it travels to Villanova. The home opener comes two-days later when the team hosts in-state rival Yale. The Stags then play road game at Boston College and Long Island University, before coming home for a three-game homestand. Fairfield will host Wagner, American and Mount St. Mary's in that seven-day span.

The league schedule consists of seven contests, four at home and three on the road. The conference opener comes March 24, at home, when the Stags host Marist. Fairfield will play at Iona on March 30 and host Manhattan on April 1. The team will take a 12-day break from MAAC action to play at Columbia, April 4 and host Holy Cross, April 11.

Fairfield closes out the season with four conference games, two at home and two on the road. The Stags will welcome Canisius on April 13, for a 7 p.m. game under the lights. Two days later the team will play its home finale, against Niagara. The regular season wraps up the following week with game at Siena and LeMoyne.

Iona College will host the 2007 MAAC Championship April 27-29. The top four teams qualify for the tournament, with an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
