Stags Rank Sixth In Weekly Polls Released On Tuesday

The Fairfield University women’s soccer team remains ranked among the elite teams in the Northeast Region, in polls released on Tuesday.

In the NSCAA coaches poll, the Stags fell one spot, to sixth, after a 1-1 week, which included a 3-0 home win over Colgate.  In the SoccerBuzz poll, Fairfield moved up two spots, to sixth, in the Northeast Region.

The Stags will play a pair of games this week at the UConn Classic, in Storrs, Conn.  Entering the week at 2-1-1, Fairfield will battle Central Connecticut State University at 5 p.m. on Friday.  The Stags will then take on host UConn, ranked second in the NSCAA poll, on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.  The #23 Huskies are the Stags second nationally ranked opponent, as Fairfield tied then #14 Colorado 1-1 in Denver.
