Loudonville, N.Y. - The Fairfield University women's soccer team returned to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play on Friday, and for the second time played to a double-overtime tie, 1-1, with host Siena College. The tie moves the Stags record to 3-3-4 on the year and 0-0-2 in MAAC play, while the Saints are now 3-4-2 on the year and 0-0-1 in conference action.

Robyn Decker had a chance to win the game in regulation, but her shot with 22 seconds left in the game was stopped. The two teams played a scoreless and shotless first overtime, but Alex Caram opened the second overtime stanza with a shot, 48 seconds in that went wide. Adrienne Boyer and Casey Frobey also had shots in the second overtime, which went wide as well.

The Saints had several shots on net in the second overtime, as Erin Morine, 107:36, and Chelsea Maguire, 108:23, bid for the win, but were both stymied by Brett Maron.

After a scoreless first half the Stags came out firing in the second stanza. Caram put the Stags first shot on net 48 seconds into the second half. After the Saints missed wide 18 seconds later, Chrissie Sidie put the Stags on top. She scored her second goal of the year at 48:32, touching net with a shot from the middle of the box. The Stags put a third shot on net a minute later, but the Saints goalkeeper stopped Casey Frobey's attempt.

The Saints answered at the 57:18 mark as Kristen Turner took a pass from the left side from Morine, and put the ball back across the crease and into the back of the net.

Fairfield was called offsides three times in the contest.

Maron minded the net for the Stags for the entire 110 minutes, making six saves. The lone goal she allowed snapped a streak of 262 minutes that Fairfield has played goal free. Patti Carroll allowed one goal, and made four saves, in her 110 minutes in goal for the Saints.

Fairfield was out shot in the contest 15-10, and the Saints managed four corner kick chances, to the Stags one. The Stags committed 17 fouls, as compared to 15 for the host.

The Stags opened MAAC play a week ago at Iona, earning a 0-0 double-overtime tie.

Fairfield will return to action on Sunday, when it travels to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. for a 1 p.m. game at Marist.
