Tonight's Match-up ... The Fairfield University women's soccer team plays for the first time in a week as it hosts Boston University. The Stags enter the contest with an 0-2-2 record, while the Terriers are 3-1-1.
Scouting BU ... BU enters the game at 3-1-1 on the year, with wins over BC, Princeton and St. Joseph's, a 0-0 draw with Brown and a 3-1 loss to UMass. Farrell McLernon has a team best three goals, while Lauren Erwin has recorded three assists. Stephanie Dreyer as minded the net for all of the minutes played, and has made 20 saves, while allowing four goals.
Fantastic Frobey ... Freshman Casey Frobey has made an impact on the Stags offense in her first four games. She has tallied both the Stags goals, and ranks 8th in the MAAC in goals per game and points per game.
Maron Makes it Happen ... Brett Maron continues to impress as the Stags goalkeeper and rates among the best in the MAAC. She 19 saves in four games, good for fourth in the league. Maron is averaging 4.75 saves per game, and has a GAA 1.42 and a save percentage of .760, also fourth in the MAAC.
Bring a Friend or Nine to the Game ... Fairfield University is offering reduced ticket prices for groups of 10 or more at men's and women's soccer games this fall. For more information contact the Stags ticket office at 203-254-4136. Groups of 10 or more will recieve admission for $2 per person to each regular season home game the Stags play.
Rankings ... Boston University is ranked fourth in the Northeast Region in this weeks SoccerBuzz, while the Stags fell out of the poll for the first time this season.
Making Up ... Fairfield has rescheduled its rained out home opener against Holy Cross for Tuesday, October 10 at 7 p.m.
What Lies Ahead for the Stags ...
The Stags have a busy week, as they head out to the road. Fairfield will play in the BAE Systems Tournament at West Point, N.Y., Friday and Sunday, against Delaware and Army. The Stags then travel to Iona on September 22 for the MAAC opener, before returning home on September 24 to host Hartford.
