Fairfield, Conn. - Fairfield University junior women's soccer player Brett Maron (Billerica, Mass.) earned First Team All-Northeast Region accolades from Soccer Buzz. Rookie Casey Frobey (Sandy Hook, Conn.) was also recognized, being named to the Northeast Region All-Freshman Team.

"These honors are well deserved for Brett and Casey," said second-year head coach Jim O'Brien. "While that duo is honored as individuals, I think its shows how our program as a whole is moving back into the minds of those in the region, and from there the nation, as a program to be watched."

Maron, a graduate of Billerica High School, was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Defensive Player of the Year, notching 85 saves, while allowing just 18 goals in nearly 1800 minutes of action. She posted a goals-against-average of 0.93 was the best in the MAAC, and was the third-best single-season mark in Fairfield's history. She also led the MAAC in save percentage, stopping 82.5 percent of the shots on net. In that same realm, she posted a league best seven shutouts, for the second straight year.

Frobey, a graduate of Newtown High School, earned MAAC Rookie of the Year accolades, as she led the Stags in scoring with 27 points. She netted 12 goals, which is the third best single-season effort in program history, as well as tallying three assists. The point total equaled the eighth best single-season effort in the Stags 15-year varsity history.

The Stags posted a 9-7-4 overall mark and finished third in the MAAC going 5-2-2. Fairfield advanced to the semifinals of the MAAC Tournament, before falling to the eventual champion.
