
Softball Drops Pair Of Games To Boston College

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Riannon Thomas recorded a hit in both ends of a doubleheader with Boston College, including a pair of hits in the nightcap, as the Fairfield University softball team dropped two games to the Eagles Boston College won the first game by a 4-1 score, and came back with a 12-2 decision in the second game in five innings.
The Eagles scored all it would need in the first game with a three-run third inning, highlighted by a two-run single by pitcher Taylor Peyton. Fairfield cut into the lead with a run in the sixth inning when Kristie Trifiolis drove home a run with a fielder's choice.
In the second game, the Stags jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, courtesy of two Boston College errors. The visitors erased that deficit with four runs in the top of the second inning with Amanda Booth stroking a two-run single in the frame. Booth finished the game with two hits and three RBI. The Eagles blew the game open with seven runs in the top of the fourth inning.
