EAST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Shannon Logan drove home two base runners in both ends of a doubleheader against the University of Hartford, as the Stags split the twinbill. The Hawks won the opener, but Fairfield came back with a 13-4 five-inning victory.

The Stags jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning of game one. Shannon Logan pushed both runs across the plate with a double, a lead which Fairfield took to 3-1 with a single run in the fourth inning. The Hawks answered with a four-run bottom of the fourth inning, and added another run in the fifth inning to take control of the game en route to a 7-3 win.

Fairfield used a nine-run fifth inning in the second game to post a 13-4 win in five innings. The fifth inning was highlighted by a two-run double by Logan, while Cagney Ringnalda added a two-run home run and Tara Hansen posted a solo homer.

Tracy Sylvestre earned the win by going the distance, striking out six hitters and scattering eight hits in earning her fifth win of the season.

The Stags return to action on Saturday when they travel to Manhattan College for a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference doubleheader.
