
Women's Tennis Falls to Quinnipiac 6-1

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Fairfield University women's tennis team suffered a tough 6-1 loss to Quinnipiac this afternoon.
The lone win for the Stags (3-11) came at No. 1 singles as Dana Postupack (Kingston, N.Y.) defeated Jackie Herb, 7-6(7-5), ret.
At No. 2 singles, Alyssa Ruiz (Glen Head, N.Y.) fell to Adrienne Markison, 6-2, 6-0. At No. 3 singles, Michaela Cerrone (N. Scituate, R.I.) was topped by Amanda Petruzzi, 6-2, 6-3. At No. 4 singles, LIsanne Steinert stopped Gretchen Amberg (Manasquan, N.J.), 6-4, 6-3.
At No. 5 singles, senior Courtney Price (Meriden, Conn.) fell to Nikki Adams, 6-1, 6-2. At No. 6 singles, Courtney Taylor (Bay Shore, N.Y.) fell to Kasey Rosenberger, 6-2, 6-2.
The Bobcats (5-7) also swept the doubles point. At the top spot, Herb and Markison defeated Postupack and Amberg, 8-5. At No. 2 doubles, Cerrone and Ruiz fell to Steinert and Adams, 8-5. At third doubles, Price and Caitlin Savoy (Winchester, Mass.) fell to Shawna Sarson and Rosenberger, 8-3.
Fairfield returns to the courts on April 10 when its hosts conference foe Manhattan at 1 p.m. at the Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts.
