Dana Postupack and Paulina Rys Earn All-MAAC Second Team Doubles Honor

EDISON, N.J. - Fairfield University's sophomore duo of Dana Postupack (Kingston, N.Y.) and Paulina Rys (Forest Hills, N.Y.) was named to the All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Tennis second team this afternoon as announced by the league office.   

Postupack and Rys were dominant at No. 1 doubles for the second year in a row. The duo went 4-1 in conference play to bring their season record to 17-12. They closed out the year by winning seven of their last 10 matches. 

Individually, Postupack was 17-15 overall at mostly No. 1 singles. She had a combined 35 victories for tops on the team. During the fall season, the MAAC All-Academic selection, advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Eastern Regional. 

Rys, meanwhile, went 14-14 at mostly No. 2 singles. She had 31 combined wins which were good for second most on the team. She was also named the MAAC Player of the Week twice. 

Postupack and Rys helped Fairfield advanced to the MAAC Championship finals for the first time since 2003-04 season. The Stags, who had won six matches in a row entering that contest, finished as the runner-up. Overall, Fairfield was 9-12 on the season and 5-2 in conference play.
