Results

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Fairfield women's tennis team won their second straight match on March 12 defeating Bentley College, 7-0. With the win the Stags move to 5-2 on the season while the Falcons fall to 5-4.

At No. 1 singles, freshman Paulina Rys (Forest Hills, N.Y.) posted a 6-3, 7-5 victory against Heather Haggerty. Sophomore Lauren Bonanno (Bradenton, Fla.) edged out Kelly Fleszar, 7-6, 6-2 at No. 2 singles while rookie Dana Postupack (Kingston, N.Y.) knocked off Kelly Nugent, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

At the fourth spot, senior Alexis Accomando (Lilitz, Pa.) posted her fourth-straight singles victory of the spring with a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Marcia Gilbride. At No. 5 singles, sophomore Gabriela Davila (Guaybano, Puerto Rico) defeated Rachel Harbert, 6-0, 6-1.

Junior Courtney Price (Meriden, Conn.) pulled out an exciting victory at No. 6 singles defeating Andrea Hollot, 7-6, 4-6, 10-8.

In doubles action, Rys and Postupack defeated Katherine Giambalvo and Haggerty, 8-2 at the top spot. Accomando and Bonanno teamed up at No. 2 doubles to defeat Fleszar and Nugent, 6-2, 6-1 while the duo of Davila and Price downed Gilbride and Harbert, 8-4, at third doubles.

Fairfield wraps up play in Florida on March 13 with a match up against Radford.
