ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Fairfield women's tennis team ended their spring break trip on a down note this afternoon, falling to Radford 6-1. With the loss, the Stags fall to 5-3 on the season while the Highlanders improve to 6-4.
Sophomore Gabriela Davila (Guaybano, Puerto Rico) picked up the Stags' lone singles victory with a 7-6(7-4), 6-0 win against Alexandra Spector at No. 5 singles.
The freshman tandem of Paulina Rys (Forest Hills, N.Y.) and Dana Postupack (Kingston, N.Y.) earned a doubles victory for Fairfield. The pair defeated Daniela Milano and Cassandra Price, 8-3, in the top flight.
At No. 1 singles, Rys fell to Milano, 6-4, 6-0, while sophomore Lauren Bonanno (Bradenton, Fla.) was unable to overtake Camila Noldin, falling 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Postupack fell to Ashton Downs, 6-0, 6-4.
Senior Alexis Accomando (Lilitz, Pa.) lost just her second singles match of the year falling to Cassandra Price, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 4 singles. At the sixth spot, junior Courtney Price (Meriden, Conn.) fell to Antonietta Iosue, 6-3, 6-1.
In doubles action, Accomando and Bonanno fell to Noldin and Downs, 8-5 at No. 2 doubles while Courtney Price and Davila were stopped by Spector and Neely Edwards, 8-2.
Fairfield returns to the courts on March 21 when the Stags travel to Fordham.
