NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - Marist College edged the Fairfield University women's tennis team, 4-3 on Tuesday afternoon at SUNY New Paltz. The loss drops the Stags record to 8-11 overall and 2-4 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
Alexis Accomando defeated Megan Gureck, in a three-set thriller, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, at No. 3 singles. It was the 12th win of the season for Accomando, and first in conference play.
Cristin Zaccareo also won a three-set thriller, as she defeated Emily Zampello, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 At No. 5 singles. Zaccareo improves to 4-1 on the season in singles matches.
Michaela Kehoe cruised to an easy, 6-1, 6-0 decision over Caitlin Broderick at No. 6 singles. Kehoe ups her singles match record to 6-4 on the season.
Fairfield hosts Manhattan on Wednesday, April 12, at the Fairfield University Tennis Courts.
