FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Fairfield University women's tennis team defeated Manhattan College, 4-3 on Wednesday evening at the USTA Tennis Center. With the win, Fairfield improves to 9-11 overall and 3-4 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).

After Manhattan took No. 1 and No. 2 singles, Gabriela Davila defeated Casey Conklin 6-1, 7-5 at No. 3 singles, to win her third match in a row. Tiffany Marsocci defeated Patrice Reiley 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles, to win her 14th match of the season.

Christina Chacharone also won her fourth match in a row, with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Men Nguyen at No. 5 singles. The win was Chacharone's fifth in MAAC play this season.

Courtney Price was leading 4-1 in the first set, before Lindsay Spagnola retired at No. 6 singles. It was Price's seventh win of the season.

On the doubles side, Davila and Marsocci teamed up for Fairfield only win, with an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.

Fairfield returns to action on Monday, April 17 with a dual match at Providence College, at 1:30 p.m.
