PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College edged the Fairfield University women's tennis team 4-3, on Monday afternoon. Christina Chacharone won her fifth singles match in a row, and Gabriela Davila won her fourth singles match in a row for Fairfield.
Providence won at both No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, to take the point from the Stags (9-12, 3-4 MAAC). Davila and Chacharone picked up the lone doubles win for Fairfield, with an 8-4 win over Erin Kenega and Kate Lyons.
Chacharone defeated Megan Gilroy 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5 singles, and Davila defeated Kenega 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.
Courtney Price defeated Theresa Griffin, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.
Fairfield will finish the regular season on Tuesday afternoon, with a non-conference match against Hofstra at the Fairfield University Tennis Courts.
