FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Fairfield University women's tennis Head Coach Jeff Wyshner announced that Dana Postupack of Kingston, N.Y. and Paulina Rys of Forest Hills, N.Y. have singed national letter of intent to enroll at Fairfield University and play for the Stags in the fall of 2006.

"We are very excited to add Dana and Paulina to our class of 2010," Wyshner said. "They are both very excellent players who had significant success in both high school and junior tennis in the very strong Eastern section of the USTA. Combined with Gretchen Amberg who signed in November, this is the strongest and deepest recruiting class I have ever had."

Postupack played first singles for all four years of her high school career at John A. Coleman Catholic High School in Hurley, N.Y. She was named the most valuable player of her high school team, in each of her four seasons. She finished the 2005 season ranked No. 48 in the Girls 18s in the Eastern Section of the USTA, and garnered several Empire State Games Gold Medals.

Off the tennis court, Postupack was a four-year starter on the basketball team, and was a four-time All-New York State Section IX Division III honoree. She finished her basketball career, with over 1,000 points.

Rys played on the boy's tennis team at The Kew-Forest School since the eighth grade. She played No. 1, No.2, and No. 3 singles, and was selected the team's MVP. She finished 2005, ranked No. 55 in the Girls 18s of the USTA Eastern Section. She also earned varsity letters in basketball, soccer, and softball at Kew-Forest School.

"Dana and Paulina are both exceptional athletes who have very well-developed tennis skills," Wyshner stated. "Not only will they impact our starting lineup next September, but with our intense schedule and their determination to excel, they are going to be very successful over the next four years."

The Stags open the 2006-07 season on Saturday, Sept. 9, with the fifth annual Fairfield Doubles Festival.
