FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University volleyball team downed Manhattan College 3-0 (30-16, 30-28, 30-17) this afternoon as the Stags won their 14th straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) match to improve to 15-1 in league play and 18-10 overall. Fittingly on Senior Day, senior Lindsey Lee (Hilo, Hawaii/St. Joseph) broke the Fairfield record for career digs.

Lee finished with 13 digs, nine kills, and three total blocks on the day. She entered the match needing just three digs to break the record of 1,612 set by Lauren Laramore in 2005. Currently, Lee has collected 1,623 career digs and is third on the career kills list with 1,387.

Senior Kelly Oliver (San Diego, Calif./La Jolla) registered a double-double, her tenth of the year, with 17 kills and 10 digs. Senior Ashley Hanhano (Hilo, Hawaii/St. Joseph) chipped in with 15 assists, two kills, and a season high four aces while classmate Jazmin Pa'akaula (Hilo, Hawaii/St. Joseph) notched a match-high 25 digs.

Sophomore Katie Mann (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines) recorded six kills and five total blocks along with a career-high 12 digs.

Fairfield controlled from nearly the start of game one cruising to the 30-16. The Stags carried that momentum into the second frame pulling out to a 28-19 lead. Manhattan (5-23, 4-12 MAAC), however, stormed back, closing the gap to 28-26 on an ace by Cayla Roberts. A kill by Mann stopped the run but the Jaspers narrowed the score to 29-28. The Stags secured the win on a block by Mann and Barbie Thistle (Bakersfield, Calif.).

In game three, Fairfield held a slight 13-10 when Hanohano stepped to the line to serve seven straight points, including three aces. That was all the breathing room the Stags needed as they finished with a 30-17 win.

Fairfield wraps up the regular season on the road at Rider on Nov. 8 and Marist on Nov. 10.
