Jan 28, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. - Fairfield University senior volleyball player Lindsey Lee (Hilo, Hawaii) and senior men's lacrosse player Dan Boudreau (Canton, Mass.) were two of 16 student-athletes named as recipients of the Academic Momentum Award presented by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS).

Lee, a psychology major, and Boudreau, an economics major, along with the other award winners were recognized for their academic improvement and motivation for academic excellence.

The award is presented through the Scholar-Baller® Program, which was created in 1995 to bridge the gap between education and sport, utilizing student-athletes' passion for entertainment and athletics. Forty nominations were submitted by 23 colleges and universities across the country and the awards were officially presented on January 28 during Founder's Luncheon of the NCAS Annual Conference.

The NCAS is a growing organization of colleges and universities that provides opportunities for current and former student-athletes to continue their pursuit of higher education while working in the community with children to address social issues.
