POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Fairfield rolled into the McCann Center undefeated in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and cruised out that way as the volleyball team blanked Marist, 3-0 (30-13, 30-13, 30-24), this afternoon, in a total team effort. The Red Foxes (8-15, 6-8 MAAC) ran into a red-hot Stags' squad that extended their winning streak to 13 matches, the fourth-longest in program history, while moving to 16-6 on the season and 13-0 in conference play. Fairfield, which has 13 shutout victories this season, has not lost a game in the last seven matches.

Junior Lindsey Lee (Hilo, Hawaii/St. Joseph) led the way with a match-high 15 kills. Setter Barbie Thistle (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield) was the only other Stag in double figures, tallying 34 assists. Freshman Katie Mann (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines) and junior Jazmin Pa'akaula (Hilo, Hawaii/St. Joseph) each registered eight kills on the day. Mann also recorded three aces and a .429 attack percentage while Pa'akaula hit .538.

Defensively, sophomore Brandi Higa (Honolulu, Hawaii/Hawaii Baptist Academy) had nine digs while Pa'akaula and junior Kelly Oliver (San Diego, Calif./La Jolla) each had eight digs.

Fairfield posted a .415 attack percentage for the match, while Marist hit just .022. The Stags held a 50-25 advantage in kills and a 41-31 advantage in digs. Blocks were even at four apiece while service aces were even at five.

The Stags will attempt to keep their winning streak alive tomorrow, October 29, as they square off with second-place Siena at 2 p.m. in Alumni Hall.
