JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Fairfield won its 17th consecutive match and remained undefeated in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) by rolling past Saint Peter's 3-0 (30-19, 30-16, 30-22) this evening. The Stags improve to 20-6 overall and 17-0 in the conference while the Peahens fall to 13-21 and 6-1 in the MAAC.
Junior Lindsey Lee (Hilo, Hawaii) led the Stags' attack with a match-high 13 kills. Freshman Katie Mann (Del Mar, Calif.) recorded eight kills while Kelly Oliver (San Diego, Calif.), the reigning MAAC Offensive Player of the Week, had seven kills.
Senior Natalie Barba (Austin, Texas), freshman Barbie Thistle (Bakersfield, Calif.) and junior Lauren Campbell (San Diego, Calif.) each chipped in wih four kills. Thistle also added 35 assists and eight digs.
Defensively, sophomore Brandi Higa (Honolulu, Hawaii) led the way with 15 digs.
Fairfield hit .275 for the match while holding Saint Peter's to a .084 attack percentage. The Peahens out-blocked the Stags, 6.5-2.0.
Fairfield's winning streak remains the fourth-longest in program history and is tied for the fifth-longest active winning streak in NCAA Division I.
The Stags will attempt to finish the MAAC regular season with a perfect record on Nov. 11 when they travel to Loyola.
