FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Junior Lindsey Lee (Hilo, Hawaii/St. Joseph) and freshman Barbie Thistle (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield) earned weekly honors from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) this afternoon after helping Fairfield improve to 3-0 in the conference last week.

Lee, who was named Defensive Player of the Week earlier this season, had a solid week averaging 4.50 kills and 4.33 digs along with a .478 attack percentage. Against Saint Peter's on Sept. 18, Lee became the eighth Stag to reach 1,000-dig mark for her career with 14 kills and 17 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. Additionally, the outside hitter has 936 career digs and is on pace to become only the fifth Stag to record both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career. Lee leads the MAAC in kills (4.32/g), is fourth in digs (4.29) and is fifth in hitting percentage (.286).

Thistle, who picked up her second rookie honor, continued her stellar work as the Stags' setter. She averaged 12.50 assists and 1.83 kills and registered a .611 attack percentage in both matches last week. Thistle also had seven of Fairfield's 19 service aces on the week. Against Saint Peter's, she tallied five aces along with five kills and 44 assists. Thistle currently leads the MAAC in assists with 11.58 per game.

Fairfield (6-6, 3-0 MAAC) is back in action this weekend as the Stags host a pair of MAAC matches at Alumni Hall. Fairfield will face Niagara on Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. and Canisius on Oct. 1 at 2 p.m.
