Allen Gibson is in his tenth year as
a member of the Department of Athletics staff, serving as the
Associate Director of Athletics/Facilities and Operations. In
that role he is responsible for overseeing the athletic facilities,
managing game-day operations, and is the primary administrator for
women's lacrosse, field hockey and men's and women's
cross-country.
Gibson, who was hired in June 2000, and was promoted to his current
position in March 2002, manages the operating budget that provides
equipment and game support for all varsity sports. He handles
game day operations for all home events, and is the liaison to
campus operations for maintenance and renovation of athletic
facilities.
A native of Prospect, Conn., Gibson began as a Public Relations
Intern at the Atlantic 10 Conference in 1993-94, before serving in
a similar role for the New York Giants the following year. He
was hired as the assistant director of ticket operations at
Villanova in Nov. 2005, a post he held through June 1997, when he
was named assistant director of Athletic Facilities and operations
at the Philadelphia, Pa., school.
Gibson is very active within the local community, serving as a
board member and head football coach for the Bridgeport Pop Warner
in 2005. He is a board member of the Fairfield County Sports
Commission, a post he has held since Aug. 2002.
Gibson, and his wife Nadine, reside in Bridgeport, Conn., with
their children Allen, 10, and Aleesa, 5.
