Pat Murphy is in his ninth year with the Department of Athletics, serving as the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Business and External Affairs.  He is the sport administrator for the men's lacrosse, men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis and women's soccer teams.

In his current role, Murphy is responsible for overseeing the daily business and financial operations of the department.  He also is responsible for the external affairs operations, which include the marketing efforts, tickets operations and promotions.

A native of Ontario, N.Y. Murphy came to Fairfield in October 2001 after spending four years as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Financial Affairs at DePaul University.  No stranger to the MAAC, Murphy was the Associate Director of Athletics at Iona College from 1993-97.  He got his start in college athletics at the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, 1991-93, as the Director of Athletic Marketing and Development.

Murphy, who played soccer at Marshall University, earned a B.A. in Sports Marketing and Management and an M.A. in Sports Administration, at the Huntington, W.V. school.  Murphy attended the I-A Athletic Directors Institute in 2006, as well as the Sports Management Institute Executive Program, and has attended the Collegiate Business Conference the last three years.

Murphy currently resides in Norwalk, Conn.
