
Jack Jones begins his 12th season as the
sports information director at Fairfield University, and his 20th
year as a full-time SID in the state of Connecticut. He works
with the Stags men’s basketball, field hockey, men’s
and women’s rowing, men’s soccer, and softball
teams.
He joined the Fairfield University staff after spending eight-plus
seasons as the sports information director at the University of New
Haven. At UNH, Jones publicized 18 varsity sports, including the
nationally-ranked football team. During his tenure, running back
Roger Graham won the Harlon Hill Trophy as Division II’s
national player of the year, while the football team was named the
best offense in the nation by Sports Illustrated.
His resume also includes time as a sports information assistant at
Princeton University, and as a graduate assistant at Glassboro
State College. He graduated from Purdue University in 1985 with
dual degrees in public relations and journalism. He earned his
master’s degree from Fairfield University in 2001.
