The Fairfield University Department of Athletics announced its
12-game fall slate to be video streamed live on the internet via
the B2 Network. This marks the second year of the agreement
between Fairfield and B2 in bringing Stags athletics to fans around
the world. The Stags field hockey, men’s soccer,
volleyball and women’s soccer teams are each scheduled for
three appearances in the package.
We are excited to be able to present to fans an expanded number of
events in a broad spectrum of sports,” said Director of
Athletics, Eugene P. Doris. “We had great success with
B2 broadcasts during the winter and spring sports’ seasons
last year and are looking forward to extending coverage to our fall
sports.”
The fall schedule kicks off with the Stags’ first home
contest of the year, Friday, August 29, when the field hockey team
hosts Virginia Commonwealth at noon from University Field.
The men’s soccer team makes it B2 debut on September 12,
hosting Harvard on Lessing Field at 7 p.m. The first women’s
soccer contest to air will come on September 21, when it hosts
UConn at 1 p.m. The volleyball squad will play its
first streamed contests on September 28, from Alumni Hall when it
hosts Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) foe Iona at 2
p.m.
Fans are able to purchase an All-Access pass, which includes every
Stags game streamed via B2 Networks for $150. Fans can also
purchase contests on a single-game basis, at $7 per event.
There is also a $60 basketball pass which gives fans access to all
Stags men’s and women’s home basketball contests.
The additional eight games include a mix of key conference contests
and exciting non-conference opponents. The men’s soccer
team game with ACC foe Boston College on October 8 and the key
league contest with Loyola on October 26, will both air as part of
the fall schedule. The Stags women’s soccer team will
have its league game with Niagara, October 10 and regular season
finale, November 2, versus Manhattan, on the package.
The volleyball match with MAAC foe Canisius will air on October 5,
as will the rematch of the 2007 MAAC Championship contest with
Siena, on November 9. The field hockey team will host Lock
Haven on September 27, and America East foe New Hampshire on
October 25.
In addition to the fall schedule, all of the Fairfield men’s
and women’s basketball home games will air live on B2,
excluding those being televised as part of the MAAC television
package. Also slated to air will be selected games from the
softball and baseball diamonds and men’s and women’s
lacrosse games in the spring.
