Biography

 

Ryan Plourde signed with the Chicago White Sox organization as an undrafted free agent in June 2014.

Plourde played in and started the most ever by a Stag, checking into 203 games and starting 197 of those contests, including 157 consecutive games and 155 consecutive starts to finish his career. He leaves the program ranked in the top-10 in almost every category possible. He stands fourth all-time in hits (224), third in runs scored (139), third in at-bats (694), first in triples (11), second in walks (121), fifth in total bases (324), sixth in RBIs (117), seventh in on-base percentage (.435), is tied for tenth in doubles (36), and ranks fifth in fielding percentage (.986). He’s also tied for 12th in batting average (.323) and is 16th in homeruns (14).

Summer League: Spent Summer 2013 playing for the New Bedford BaySox of the NECBL and the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

Preseason All-MAAC ...  MAAC Championship All-Tournament Team … Started all 56 games, the most-ever by a Stag, primarily behind the plate but also in the outfield … Finished with a career-best 66 hits, including 18 multi-hit games, and a team-high 45 runs scored … Batted .346 with 30 RBIs, 10 doubles, three triples, two homers, and 39 walks, the second-highest single season total in program history … Struck out just 10 times in 191 at-bats, including a streak of 71 at-bats without a strikeout … Went 15-for-18 in the stolen base department … Had a fielding percentage of .996, going 222 consecutive chances before committing his first and only error of the year … Got on base in all but one game … Reached base safely in each of his final 33 games … Had a 10-game hitting streak early in the season … Had at least one hit in 10 of his final 11 games … Named to the MAAC Championship All-Tournament team after batting .467 (7-for-15) with two runs, an RBI, two stolen bases, an on-base percentage of .600, three walks and two HBP … In final game as a Stag, went 3-for-4 with a walk, a run scored, an RBI, and two stolen bases in MAAC Championship contest versus Siena … Went 2-for-5 with a run scored and a walk in the win over Siena in the MAAC Championship … Scored five runs in the series against Marist … Went 1-for-3 with a walk, a HBP, and two RBIs at Seton Hall … Went a combined 4-for-9 with three runs scored in doubleheader versus Central Connecticut, including a four-RBI game … Notched two-hits in four out of five game between April 27 and May 3 … Broke Fairfield’s career triples record on April 26 at Siena … Picked up his 200th hit against Sacred Heart on April 23, finishing the day 2-for-4 with a triple, a walk, and three runs scored … Went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two run scored in series opener against Monmouth … Went 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, and a run in first game of doubleheader at NYIT … Went a combined 4-for-7 in doubleheader sweep of Yale … Went 3-for-3 with a walk and a double and a run scored against UMass Lowell … Walked twice and scored a run in the win at Northeastern … In series finale at Saint Peter’s, went 2-for-4 with a homer, three RBIs, and two runs scored … In series finale at Iona, went 1-for-3 with three walk, two runs scored, and an RBI … Went 2-for-4 at St. John’s … Went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs, and an RBI in series finale at George Mason … Opened the season by going 2-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base, and a run scored at North Florida.

Began the year by reaching base in 30 consecutive games and had an 18-game hitting streak which tied the program record ... Went 3-for-5 in series finale at Longwood ... Hit first homer of the year at George Mason ... Went 6-for-15 in series at Stetson ... Drove in three runs against Quinnipiac ...
