Biography

2022: Katie Kudlacik, who was selected to the All-MAAC secnod team, reached double digits in the win column for the second time in her career with a 10-4 mark through the 2022 season. She ended one win off her career high of 11 set in her freshman campaign. She started the season by surrendering 12 earned runs in her first two appearances with six runs against Mount St. Mary’s and another six versus North Carolina State. After that, she surrendered just 32 earned runs over her final 103.2 innings pitched for a 2.16 ERA. Kudlacik fanned 84 hitters in 110.1 innings which averages out to 5.3 strikeouts per seven innings. Kudlacik fanned six or more batters in seven games including a season-high 11 strikeouts against Monmouth, a game in which she pitched 10 innings. In overall MAAC regular-season games, Kudlacik posted a 1.69 ERA with three shutouts and a save in 11 appearances.

2021: Kudlacik finished the 2021 campaign as the co-leader on the pitching staff with seven victories, all of which came during the regular season. The pitcher tossed her first career shutout with a complete game at Iona, striking out 13 hitters in the game. In the Iona series, Kudlacik registered 23 strikeouts in two starts which covered 12 innings, numbers which helped her earn the MAAC Pitcher of the Week. The junior struck out 67 batters in 68.1 innings pitched and posted six or more strikeouts in four of her starts. She came out of the bullpen for the first time this season against Monmouth, pitching two-thirds of an inning and allowing two earned runs. Kudlacik won her first three decisions before falling in her start against Siena. She rebounded with four more wins before dropping her final start of the season against Monmouth. The opposition had a tough time gaining extra base hits against the junior as she yielded just seven doubles and two home runs over her 13 starts.

2020: Kudlacik finished the 2020 season with a team-best seven starts and three complete games which helped her account for three of the team’s four victories. Her 33.0 innings pitched was also a team-high as she posted a 4.09 ERA and averaged 5.3 strikeouts per seven innings pitched. She opened her season with a win over North Carolina, allowing two earned runs over seven innings and striking out four hitters. Her second victory was against Penn, a complete game where she allowed two unearned runs and fanned a season-high 10 hitters. She pitched five innings to earn her final win of the season, a 10-2 decision over Bethune-Cookman. All seven of her appearances came as a starter. Kudlacik pitched at least four innings in five of her seven starts which included two complete games.

2019: Katie Kudlacik finished her regular-season with an 11-7 record, the most wins by any Fairfield pitcher in 2019. The pitcher received a berth to the MAAC All-Rookie team following her inaugural campaign. She won her first two decisions over Campbell and George Washington and went on to post victories in six of her first seven decisions, all against non-conference opponents. The pitcher owned a 7-2 mark in non-conference play with 40 strikeouts in 55.2 innings pitched. She followed up with a 4-5 mark in MAAC play but allowed just 1.84 earned runs per game in those contests. She collected a season-high 10 strikeouts in her victory against Campbell, allowing one earned run in those seven innings. She nearly equaled that total with nine strikeouts in the Hartford game. Since her season-high 3.50 ERA after the Rhode Island game, Kudlacik has allowed just 10 earned runs in last 41.1 innings pitched (1.69 ERA) which lowered her season ERA to 2.76.
